Pro Photo CDs can store approximately 100 images in a multi-resolution file. However this number will vary depending on the amount of times the disk has been changed. Each time you write to a CD, a new directory is created which takes up disk space. A photo CD image can be opened in a number of color spaces. This will also allow for better workflow in the prepress production process, resulting in better control and timesavings.

Photographic film in standard sizes can be scanned to Photo CD, including positive or negative film in either color or black & white. Prints or flat art must first be converted to film before scanning. A Photo CD image can be modified in any application that supports Photo CD, such as Adobe Photoshop.
