Scanning
is used as a tool to reproduce hardcopy
originals, update old drawings, or archive documents. If you
have drawings and you want to copy them, they can be scanned
on our Oce 9800s and then printed. Every copy is as good as
your original. Copies are 400 dpi in black & white on plain
paper. Active project files can be stored at NRI for future
printing.
Drawings can be scanned
and vectorized. Vectorization is done when old drawings which
were created by hand, now need to be modified in a CAD program.
The vectorization process converts raster images to intelligible
lines, curves, text, etc.
Scanning
is also used as a way to archive documents. Using our Document
Management System, drawings can be scanned, indexed, and stored
for future use. The files can be burned to a CD with a viewer
or stored on-line in our Web-based EDM system.
